Engineering and Product Infrastructure services for a white labelled insurance platform WWAS
We boosted our client’s development speed by preventing codebase divergence and ensuring stable instances. PYGIO also improved infrastructure to speed up reports and system performance under heavy data loads.
Business Requirements
Our client faced slow development and high complexity due to a fragmented multi-client architecture. As a result, it was difficult to maintain code consistency and add new features. The system was slow due to too much data, and there weren’t enough engineers to work on long-term strategic goals.
Solution
The PYGIO team focused on keeping code versions in sync and improving reporting capabilities. We successfully sped up data reporting, reduced costs, and made updates easier. A key priority was to accelerate feature launches through better planning. To support faster progress, we brought in part-time developers to strengthen the team.

During our Discovery and Project analysis, we discovered and successfully addressed the following areas:
Slow development velocity and high solution complexity for running a multi-client architecture. We built a system that minimizes the risk of codebase divergence by design, ensuring all instances stay functional.
Product Infrastructure. Reports and overall system responses are slow due to high data volumes. PYGIO dev team speed up data reporting while keeping infrastructure costs reasonably low. This let to more flexible report creation & modification through cron and command enhancements.
Engineering capacity. Lack of resources available to meet client requests & timelines as well as pursue strategic initiatives. We implemented team augmentation. This involved the integration of skilled external developers into the existing team structure on a temporary basis. his approach provided a rapid and flexible means to scale up the development workforce, injecting the necessary expertise and manpower to meet project demands and accelerate progress without the longer-term commitments associated with permanent hires.
Scope of work done by Project Management and Dev teams:
- Jira management saw substantial improvements, particularly in ticket tracking and clarity of descriptions.
- SCRUM ceremonies were optimized to reduce time spent by various departments, allowing that time to be redirected toward knowledge sharing and comprehensive sprint documentation, including strategic concerns. This resulted in a significant boost in productivity and the elimination of inefficient communication practices.
- Engineering capacity increased with the addition of our team, enabling the start of codebase refactoring and the introduction of a Business Analyst (BA) to document UX processes across multiple levels.
- An error tracking system was implemented into the environment, which made it easier to identify and address bugs in production before they reached the client.
- Reporting processes were dramatically optimized - one report that previously took 6 hours to generate now takes only 20 seconds (a 1080x improvement). This was achieved by analysing the underlying data and rewriting the query to use indexing.
