Design and Development of the media marketplace platform Spacely
Our product development experts contributed to building Spacely - a digital platform that connects media owners and advertisers. This two-sided marketplace streamlines offline media transactions, optimizing budgets, goals, and results.
Business Requirements
Buying and selling ads is hard. Businesses waste time on paperwork, last-minute changes, and complicated processes when trying to purchase ad space in magazines, billboards, and stadiums.
Solution
The PYGIO team took part in implementing our client’s vision - to create a marketplace that makes buying and selling offline media ads faster and easier. It solves the problems media professionals have struggled with for years, helping businesses match their advertising budgets to real results.
Project overview
Spacely emerged from a critical problem in media advertising: the complex and frustrating process of buying and selling ad spaces. Our client had in mind to create a platform for seamless interaction between agencies and brands who buy offline media (Marketers) with magazines, and OOH media, such as billboards and transit ads (Publishers).After initial research and gathering client ideas and requirements, our team mapped out platform user functional requirements:
- Marketers search through the marketplace in order to find appropriate titles to apply their customers’ ad
- Marketers can create marketing campaigns as a set of ads for different titles
- Marketers can onboard Publishers
- Publishers can publish issues (available places for advertisement in their magazines)
We carefully planned the project to manage timelines, control costs, and minimize technical risks before starting development. Our pre-development scope of work included:
Improving current design
- Updated design mockups with improved UX and user flow
- Style guide with defined typography, colors, and other design elements
- HTML/CSS templates for key pages/screens
- Design rationale document explaining the design decisions and changes made
System analysis
- Epic/User story structure with Acceptance criteria
- Data sets and data flow diagram

- MVP back-end application
- Document with feasibility details, integration module and architecture suggestions
